Jason's Thoughts
This poem is actually written by Jason at some odd thousand feet in the air, on a plane, on the way home from Tulsa. Leave a comment on what you think. Raise your hand at the voting polls never think it doesn't matter.
Hands Up
One more time for a lost generation
No wars to fight nothing more to remember
That was our declaration
All until the 11th of September
Lives were taken
And millions shaken
Like the foundation
Of everything that has built a nation
Had all at once deteriorated
Once the spirits were infuriated
Now look at where we are
So far from when this all started
Back before I was allowed to drink at a bar
I sit here tonight empty hearted
We spend our time these days seeing what freedoms remain
So that we may erase them from the paper one by one
Our own declaration of dependence to the insane
Until none are left for our four fathers nations son
United we stand and divided we fall
That was weakness for all to bear
Once the airplane entered the wall
As our nation failed all we could do was stare
So we directed our bombs at the ones responsible
With an alternative motive always probable
We set out to do more damage than the damage at hand
With our generation to dance to the beat of his band
Asking now for the blindness to end
For a generation to break no longer bend
I'm asking you to wave your hands in the air
But not to wave them like you just don't care
Let's put them up high, high in the air
To ask the question why we're still there
To ask how many rights should we sacrifice
To live our lives in a paradise
Where all is taped, watched and recorded
As thousands more caskets are boarded
Those that are still fighting
To protect themselves no longer for a cause
To set the cheek free from the biting
And understand that I am saying this without regret or pause
Learn from the actions set before you and before me
Learn from the example of those lost on flight ninety-three
Put your hands up and choose to question
Demand leadership and direction
And not look at this all as only a suggestion.

And the following poem was written for me last mother's day----awwwwww it's so sweet!
Mom
Hello...
The first words she tells you
As she holds you in her ams
Stand...
Holding your waist
Steadies your balance
Creates the foundation
Walk...
Holding you between her legs
Arms stretched out high
Diaper hitting the ground
Learn...
Reads, adds and subtracts
The concepts start blurry
She creates focus
Trust...
Holding you high
High above her head
Never lets you fall
Honor...
Windows busted
Rules broken
She teaches you responsibility for your actions
Love...
She never lets anything bad happen to you
She is always there for you
Never asks for anything in return
Fly...
She sets you free
She wants you to apply what she has taught you
Wants you to go but never wants you to leave
Congratulations...
You have become a good person
Make sure she knows you love her
Goodbye...
The last words she tells you
You love her and it will always show
She lives on in you
