Peck Peck Let Me In

I was down in the basement today watching the noon news after I had just let the dogs back in when I heard this odd noise coming from the glass door. I looked around and there sat a female duck pecking on the door as though she wanted me to let her in. I ran upstairs to get my camera but by that time she was out in my "garden" area looking for worms. I threw some bread out to her and then I attempted to take some pics of her.
Just click on the pic to enlarge it and meet Darla the duck. Hope she comes back to visit.

New Project

Weather report--It's fantastic here. Sunshine, warmth (not hot though), not humid, but we are still having frost warnings at night. I have been working on a new project. Our back yard goes down some then back up to a level hill. On top of that I have been clearing out the grass and leveling it. I want to put down edging and make a wild flower garden with 4 white pines (for privacy) and a couple of butterfly bushes. It will evenually be a nice view when I can plant. I really can't plant my seeds until the end of May because of the night frost period. By August it should be really nice. Come fall I will plant tulips and other bulbs so it will be pretty come next spring.

After the leveling, I'm digging holes for the back of the privacy fence I'm going to put up. I'm going to put up a six foot fence to block the view of the pigs behind us. Do you think the neighbors behind us could get any worse?

I'll include pics of how it is coming along.

Love you all.

Easter Bunny Strikes

Images of My Day

Time Passes

Things are a little slow around here. Not much happening. Jessica and Joe came to see us last weekend (Easter weekend). We made eggs but failed to go hunt for them because it turned out to be chilly Easter day. Joe, Gary and I made a brick patio so we would stop tracking in sand every time we came in the back door. Jessica and I planted some pansies and cleaned out the front flower bed. Saturday was a beautiful day. Found a burger place that Joe seems to like. They make huge hamburgers.

The dogs are doing well. Freckles actually played ball with Joe. Never in his life have I seen him fetch a ball. Boo Boo still stays 5 feet from me. Poochie plays tag every day with the "boys". The "boys"-Rocky and Hercules-run in and out the deck, around the love seat, up and down the stairs chasing each other and play fighting. The dogs seem to be happy here. I love the house but I miss having the extra money we had living cheaply in the trailer.

Come see us when you can. We have plenty of space now. Love you all.
