Rocky Says Snow Is For the Birds

Our one inch of predicted snow turned into about 6 inches. Lake Effect Snow. By the way I finally found out what that means. The water is warmer than the wind blowing above it producing moisture/snow. Rocky ran out but high tailed it back in after he experienced the joy of frozen feet. And yes it is still snowing. Our forecast is for the next seven days to be nothing but snow. I haven't been out of this trailer since we got back except this morning when I went out and shoveled a ton of snow off the SUV so dad could get to work. I didn't want him outside with his head cold doing that.
Well we have a new animal to add to our vistors. I opened up the door last night to take the trash out and guess what was standing by the door looking up at me. A cute little possumm. He just looked at me, turned around and waddled off. He wasn't very big and he had a pretty white coat with beady little eyes looking out at me. I think I'll call him Barney. Barney the possumm. I had thought it was maybe a raccoon that had been my nightly visitor. There had been small prints in the snow before and the dogs go crazy every morning sniffing the porch. What do possumms eat--except trash? I hate to think of any creature out there in this cold and snow hungry. Who knows maybe in my next life I'll be one of those creatures needing a free hand out.
