Steve's Pics While Gary at Work

More Pics from Gary and Steve

Here is Gary's email plus somemore pics. He said he was having trouble not hitting the curbs while driving on the left side.

Really hard to get and keep an internet connection here. Am at the lab. Driving here is really a bitch. Steve kept screaming CURB in his sleep last night. Here are some more pics.

Love and miss you.....wish YOU were here (really). Tell the whole litter hello.

Crazy Squirrel Must DIE

Molly got a haircut with the scissors--Gary said not to shave her so I didn't--ha.

I spent all day Saturday pulling up dead plants, collecting seeds for next spring, hoeing and planting over 200 bulbs in my garden. I was dirty, stinky, sore, and supporting a bee sting. It was a hard day of planting on my hands and knees which made Sunday morning and what I saw very very hard to take.

Gary was downstairs Sunday morning, then came up the stairs sniggering. He told me to look at my garden. Crazy Sqirrel was in it. He was merrily going along digging up my bulbs one at a time, chewing on it then moving on to the next hole to dig. I was furious. I started beating on the window till he ran off. Now I know it's my fault. I have been feeding the birds and squirrels but I never thought he would screw with my bulbs (tulips, iris, crocus, hyacinths, jonquils).

Monday morning I went out to my garden and reburied the bulbs that I found. Do half eaten bulbs come up? I also planted a red butterfly bush, a deep purple butterfly bush, two red hydragenias, two orange trumpet vines for the fence, a purple lilac bush, and two drawf burning bushes. Hopefully, crazy squirrel will leave these alone.

Well that's it for my exciting life for now. I watch early each morning to see if my wild turkey will show up in my garden. The weather is turning colder and they are predicting snow for next week. I sit on the deck and soak in the colors of the golden and red maples out back. Gary is going to Great Britian on the 28th until the 11th, so the dogs and I will have some down time--like I need any! We will be keeping the Kyte's kids for 3 weeks when they go to Russia to adopt a child. They have 4 girls...so wish me luck. Thank goodness only one of them drives. Hang in there and let me know how things are going.

Jim's Pics

Jim, my brother, sent these pics to me without an explanation of where they were taken. I can only guess it is in California, because I'm sure he's not in Texas! He can be contacted at msbug@flash.net if you want to say hi. Jim has since informed me the first 3 pics are at Mt. Magazine which is in Arkansas somewhere and the others are from a trip taken to California.

Saturday Afternoon Dog Pile

Hercules, Poochie, Rocky, and Boo-Boo using Gary as a heating blanket while he is watching "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charolette" starring Betty Davis. This is what we do on our boring weekends. Eat, watch TV, sleep, read, play with dogs.

Trying to Keep Warm

Brrrr Poochie just came inside shivering so I covered her up. Happy let Hercules lay on top of her. Herc makes a great heating blanket, but I don't know who was the coldest! Happy loves Rocky and Herc. She is very patient with them. She chases Rocky around and around the furniture, up and down the stairs and when she catches him she paw paws and rolls him around with her nose. Freckles and Boo Boo have their first layer of hair back--and for those that looked at the first pics-the red spots on them were flea bites, not me cutting them. They are healed up now and flealess.

A Preview of Winter

Winter arrived 2 months early. We have been running about 3 weeks ahead since last December. We woke up to 29 degrees and howling winds. One day later the wind is still howling off the Lake and snow is swirlling but it's 38 degrees today. The dogs aren't ready for it yet--I had to push them out the door to go pee.
